Rick and Mike Rhein dive into Clermont County history with Gold Rush Days at East Fork State Park April 25 to 27. Rick as a grave digger narrates at Old Bethel Church graveyard during a 1 p.m auto tour. Rangers lead a 9 a.m. hike to an old goldmine followed by bean soup over an open fire. Mike plans the Midwest Conference of Civil War Roundtables drawing about 300 enthusiasts at the Clarion Hotel. On Sunday Rick will join a bus tour to Grant’s birthplace in Point Pleasant and his Georgetown boyhood home, celebrated the 164th Grant birthday.
