Batavia Library Seeks Donations to Buy Books
Batavia public library cannot afford new books and magazines and asks individuals to contribute. The board plans to stay open summer hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays with evening access. Fire in Hamilton Law Office Threatened Town

Across six years at the Rhode Island station, 16 tons of manure plus fertilizer outperformed 82 tons of manure alone. Cabbage beets tomatoes spinach lettuce and celery yielded higher by significant margins, suggesting manure scarcity can be solved and quality improved with commercial plant food. 40 and 8: Ex-service group hosts initiation night at Armory
The 40 and 8 organization met at the Armory Saturday for a lively evening of business and initiation. Members, many with foreign travel, enjoyed refreshments after the ceremonies. Elmer Hulick, a former Batavian and brother of local residents, died at home in Charlotte North Carolina after a long illness, leaving a widow and three grown children.

In Batavia at the Court House State Deputy Master Ashton of Williamsburg opened a meeting of Grange Masters Lecturers and Secretaries. County Agent Winemiller led games and discussed securing the State Grange Sixth Degree team. Clermont county has fourteen Granges and is an Honor County. Joseph W. Wreck at Amelia Involves Cincinnati Crew Returning Home
Three of ten men from Cincinnati were injured when a Buick bus carrying nine cars collided with an eastbound G and P freight train near Amelia after crossing the tracks. The driver suffered a broken leg. others had arm and head injuries. Howard Hancock rescued the men and arranged medical aid and transport home. Read it in The Courier first.
