Scott Workman Executed for New Richmond Murder in 1926
Scott Workman, who killed his wife in New Richmond Ohio while her infant child was in her arms on August 13 1926, was electrocuted at Columbus penitentiary last Thursday night. He had drunk moonshine for eight days and signed a confession. Despite insanity evidence, the jury sentenced him to death and the Supreme Court denied relief. His lawyers fought through Appeals Court and Supreme Court without pay.

Clermont county will host a Sunday summer baseball league with six teams: Williamsburg New Richmond Mt. Carmel Batavia Loveland and Owensville. Representatives met at Batavia to organize and submit the entry fee. Batavia okays at the town and school grounds for games. Opening game April 24 with home games every other Sunday.

The Clermont County Teachers Association hosts an oratorical and musical contest at Batavia Town Hall on Saturday April 9 with a 10 30 am teachers session featuring Prof. Cooper of Ohio University. The afternoon event begins about 1 30 pm with oratory recitations quartets vocal and instrumental solos. Winners advance to the Southwestern Ohio Oratorical Contest in Batavia on April 23. Gregor Case Heard In Court Of Appeals For New Trial
The murder case State of Ohio versus Robert Gregor over Ed Wood's death near Bethel last August was argued before the Court of Appeals for a new trial. Gregor was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 244 years to 20 in the Ohio penitentiary. The defense contends the verdict conflicted with the weight of the evidence and the court took the case under advisement. He remains out on $4000 bond.

Harris Becomes 90 as Large Family Celebrates
March 29 crowd at B L Harris home Beekman Street Cincinnati gathered to honor his ninetieth birthday. Five sons and wives a stepson two daughters three grandsons and wives one unmarried grandson six great grandchildren two nieces and friends attended. Harris long served mail on the N and W R R later Cincinnati Post Office and is a Civil War veteran with government pension. Ice cream and cake followed the reception. County Commissioners Approve Bills and Contracts
Special session of the county commissioners actions include approving numerous bills and payrolls for various departments. County 4-H Leaders Meet at Batavia for 1927 Plan
Clermont county held a leadership conference in Batavia on March 30 with C C Lang assisting the county agent to draft a county program for 1927. A July 4-H tour to Cincinnati and an August county camp are planned. Topics included enrollment, local program planning, maintaining interest, and parent involvement. About 200 enrollments have reached the Farm Bureau office, with a projected fifty percent rise.

Death by shotgun ends East Liberty farmer life
Milt Sapp a retired farmer and son of former Clermont county official R D Sapp died by shotgun self harm last Saturday afternoon. He had been in failing health and sat on grain sacks in the barn with the gun at arm's length. Coroner ruled death suicide. Survived by a widow, daughter Florence and sisters Mayme and Josie. Funeral from the home Monday at 2 pm with burial in Milford.
