Wayland W. Sutton former prominent merchant and U. S. sub-treasurer under Cleveland in Cincinnati was severely injured in a Milford runaway last Saturday. Driving on Main street his horse shied, the carriage upset, axle broke, and Sutton was thrown and knocked unconscious. He is about 68 and the shock may be hard to recover from.

Joseph Leonard, aged 98, buried Wednesday in Perry township Brown county after a life in Brown, Highland and Clermont counties. Born 1901 in Warren county, he remained remarkably healthy until a paralysis in the last year. He was among Clermont’s oldest citizens and left many friends.

The tobacco market last week moved 1 757 barrels with strong demand from manufacturers buyers and speculators. Prices rose for colored and bright tobacco with a top sale of 16.65 per hundred for eight barrels from Nicholas county at the Morris warehouse and a high of 20.00 dollars for top lots. Old tobacco declines eased as receipts fall and buyers remain cautious amid uncertain bed conditions.
The steamer John K Speed carrying flour soap and nails wrecked near Louisville last Sunday.
