Albert Cox and Edward Hauck, a 25 year old brother in law, quarreled over a horse at Felicity last Tuesday night. Hauck shot Cox twice and then killed himself, with an additional head wound found later. Cox died days later and Hauck died in the incident or soon after.
A New York promoter unveils a rabbit trust prospectus claiming an initial 4 dollar investment yields over 15 million dollars in three years. Starting with 20 rabbits, breeding every six months produces 300 million rabbits in three years, valued at five cents each for a gross income of about 15 million, nearly all profit.
The Georgetown report describes a fight between brothers J. W. Kendle and Stephen Kendle last Saturday afternoon. J. W. Kendle was dangerously wounded with five wounds including three in the abdomen and a leg cut. The Gazette notes the knife was short, and the marshal’s life was saved by its blade length. Steve Kendle had been drinking. John attempted to eject him from town and the brothers argued before clashing with fists and a knife.
A Bethel resident Ben Andrews traveled to Cincinnati with Charles Reisinger and toured the city’s sights and smoky storefronts. They planned to meet on Walnut Street but Andrews failed to keep the appointment. Whether he fell into danger or was duped remains unclear, though officials think he may still appear.

The Hill District Odd Fellows lodges plan an April 26 celebration marking 80 years since Odd Fellowship arrived in America. Six Hill District lodges will host attendees with a program across Batavia Goshen Columbus and Batavia sections, plus a note on the order’s growth and history.
A colored child’s body was found in a vault on William Bunson’s property in Loveland. Bunson told the mayor the suspects. Coroner Schwab opened an inquest. A girl named McClain confessed motherhood and named Thomas Leach of Lexington as the father.

The marriage of Dr. Grant Simpson Van Horn and Miss Leontine Hulick took place at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the Hulick home with Rev. Dr. Billman officiating. The ceremony featured a graceful bridal party, elaborate dinner, and a home wedding tour before settling in a Wood Street cottage for their life together.

If approved, the schedule would have Bethel leaves at 7 10 a m and 7 35 a m arriving at 7 25 and 7 55 a m and Williamsburg departures at 9 45 a m arriving Bethel 10 55 a m. The route would provide Bethel with an early mail from Batavia and from Lethe and would aid local business men and citizens.

Miss Mary Magee has likely the champion record for long service in Clermont County teaching. After twelve consecutive years at Floraville she is promoted to a position in Owensville schools with expanded duties and higher salary. She is the daughter of Robert Magee of Owensville and sister of Mrs. W. W. DenNigon of this place.
The Socialistic Labor party fixes Sunday May 8 for nominations and will hold its convention in Columbus despite churchgoing residents' views. Samuel McKinney, long-time undertaker of Newtonsville, died at his home last Friday, aged about sixty, and was buried the following Sunday. he was remembered as a good citizen and friend with many grieving colleagues.

Colonel W A Johnson of Norwood was finally appointed to serve until next fall when a regular encampment will elect the new chief. N. F. Luckey, 81, former boyhood friend of W. B. Applegate, honored in Loveland last week. Luckey, now at Mr. Lyons' in Loveland, walked from Loveland to Branch Till Wednesday and is noted as one of Ohio's oldest Odd Fellows and Masons with 68 years of membership and a spotless record in Ohio Lodge No. 1, Cincinnati.
Mrs H A Whiteside of Georgetown announces a vaudeville debut in New York. She will sing solo with a fine soprano voice and is the daughter of the Rev Verity. Her husband Dr Whiteside is also in the theatre and will accompany her on stage.
