Dedication Ceremony For New Moscow School Building
The formal dedication of the Moscow Consolidated new school took place Wednesday March 30 in a large crowd. The two story brick building was open for inspection and the auditorium and gymnasium were filled with visitors and students. The program featured music and athletic stunts with Miss Louise Carroll leading. Ex Governor Myers Y. Cooper and Joseph W. Fichter spoke on the project. Cooper praised the board and urged wholesome living and a trio of home, school and church as civilization’s keystone.

High Rating for Batavia Ohio National Guard Unit
The High Rating, Headquarters Company of the 166th Infantry Ohio National Guard, stationed at Batavia, led the final regiment rating based on February and March Army inspections. Co M in Washington D. C. followed closely with 90.74 percent. Batavia held 9.49 percent, a wide margin amid 23 units. Lieutenant Forrest E. Government flour distributed countywide has reached 1680 sacks with Batavia receiving 130 and other towns listing 100 sacks each for a total. Loveland Mother Drowns Self in River After Note Left
Pearl Berry 40, of Loveland, mother of two, arose Friday morning to light the breakfast fire and disappeared after leaving a note for her mother. Found dead in the river by her brothers and Dan Weber, with glasses and pocketbook nearby. Coroner's verdict: death by her own action. Initial thought linked to an April fool ruse.

Bank Robber Captured after Blanchester Hold Up
A lone bandit robbed Blanchester Bank Saturday at 3 30 p m forcing five staff into the vault and securing about 15000 in currency. He fled in a running car to Midland City North, car later burned, rode a bus to Washington D H where he was captured with the money in a suitcase. He is a 28 year old Pennsylvania man held at Wilmington jail awaiting trial. He wore overalls and an engineer's cap during the robbery.
