The Twin Oaks home of Mr and Mrs George W Young on Crane Schoolhouse Road three and one half miles west of Bethel was destroyed by fire on Saturday. Delays in summoning the fire department occurred as children used the party line delaying the call. Neighbors alerted by an iron triangle and the fire department arrived to find the six room frame and fishings building in full blaze. Insured value is 9500 for the structure, while the loss to Mrs Young’s collection of priceless antiques is listed at 40000.

OWENSVILLE The Clermont District Boy Scouts of America will stage a kite derby at the fair grounds Sunday afternoon April 22 for Cubs and leaders only. Bethel Richard Smith 28 a volunteer fireman suffered a fractured left leg when he fell from the fire truck while answering a call to the Foley residence on Pt Isabel Road.
