German family survives nine days adrift at sea

Four Germans including a toddler spent nine days in a dinghy after their yacht exploded off A Coruna. They drank rainwater, were passed by 11 boats without rescue, and were plucked by a Tunisian cargo ship 70 miles from land. A helicopter airlift saved the child who briefly stopped breathing during the operation. The mother and child remained under care in Vigo hospital while the father and captain were released.
