Former doctor Swango charged with 1984 OSU patient murder

Former physician Michael J. Swango, already linked to three New York killings, faces aggravated murder charges in Columbus for the 1984 death of Cynthia Ann McGee who was recovering from a car crash. Regents seek state support of higher education

The Ohio Board of Regents proposed a 12 percent annual funding increase for the next two fiscal years to inject at least 150 million dollars yearly into research technology development and information technology training. The plan targets 2.9 billion for 2002 and 3.2 billion for 2003, up from current levels, and includes core instruction funding grants and boosts for student aid technology and teacher education. OSU president Kirwan urged lawmakers to fund both higher ed and K-12 amid a budget surplus.
