Mays Ordered to State Hospital After Insanity Verdict
Oranetta Mays, 43, previously found innocent by reason of insanity on 23 hijacking charges at Hopkins International Airport, is ordered committed to a state hospital for the criminally insane. Judge Michael J. Corrigan scheduled the transfer to Dayton Forensic Hospital after a 20 minute hearing. The decision allows possible later moves for treatment, with family expressing relief and psychiatrist Dr. Robert W. Alcorn testifying. A ticket agent and a patrolman were wounded during the attempted hijacking of a Pan Am jetliner.
