Nurmi to Train at Drake University in Des Moines
Des Moines reports that Paavo Nurmi will arrive around November 15 to begin training at Drake University's new field house. Ossie Solem, Drake coach, says Nurmi will skip eastern clubs and symposiums, with first public appearance December 11 and another Drake race December 18 before a tour. Nurse Nurmi will be accompanied by Dr. Alfred J. Peterson and Dr. Teuvo T. Kuula, who plan to lecture at American colleges on Finnish athletics while Nurmi seeks privacy during training.
