North Ridgeville weighs ambulance service future option
Safety Director Paul W. Ormsby told council the city must decide whether to run its own ambulance service or leave residents without emergency coverage. Bogner Funeral Home may stop service after Dec. 1 due to rising costs and payment collection difficulties, prompting discussion of fire or police departments taking over. The council will have the safety committee study the proposal, Vermilion’s model cited as a possible guide.

Ruling Issued in Oberlin Driver License Dispute
Johnstown Pennsylvania native James E. Donald, 21, living in Oberlin seven months, was found not guilty of operating a vehicle without an Ohio license. Judge Richard R. Huber noted a novel residency issue while Donald admitted to reckless operation and had a guilty plea on that count. Donald, a city laborer, was fired from his Oberlin job and previously registered for the draft in Johnstown. He contends nonresidency and cites Ohio residency questions as precedent.
