Firm denies Fruehauf plant interest

Avon Lake officials report Jeep Division of American Motors inspected the nearly vacant Fruehauf plant but denied any plan to lease or purchase the facility. A Fruehauf spokesman confirmed the tour while another American official denied acquisition talks. Reported asking price is 6.7 million dollars, about 7.85 per square foot. The complex covers 22 acres under roof on 186 acres valued around 3 000 dollars per acre.
