Tornado damages Avon homes and greenhouses
A small tornado touched down on Riegelsberger Road in Avon at noon, ripping two greenhouses and damaging several homes. Witnesses report heavy damage and a few injuries including a forehead cut from flying glass. Neighbors suffered minor antenna and shingle damage with no warning reported. The Weather Bureau found no radar indication of a twister.

Lorain High Students Arrested in Drug Sale Case
Two Lorain High School youths aged 16 and 17 were arrested after a teacher witnessed a hallucinogen sale in a school hallway. The 16-year-old admitted buying a capsule for $3. the 17-year-old fled with capsules and was later detained at home. A capsule dropped by the older youth was sent to a lab for analysis. Both are held at the Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home.
