Guerillas seize Amman Lebanon embassy as fighting erupts in five Jordanian cities and Beirut. Marshal Al Majali orders a curfew with threats to violators while Syria and Iraqi troops are urged to intervene.
Prime Minister Golda Meir, in the United States, rejected a State Department report of cease fire breaches by Israel. She said she looked forward to a meeting with President Nixon and planned talks on Middle East issues and military and economic aid of about 1.8 billion dollars. She defended Israel and urged a united front to free hostages.
The Waldorf Astoria announced in a news release that Golda Meir arrives today, while Gabriel Padon of the Israeli Consulate refused to disclose the prime minister’s lodging location for security reasons. Padon reacted with disbelief at the disclosure.
