Keokuk Construction presses for permit to net Eagles Building repairs
Gary Davis of Keokuk Construction told the city board there are no loose pieces after a lightning strike damaged the Eagles Building facade. He said funding and an engineer are ready, and netting work could take as long as repairs, with a Sept. 30 contractor in view. If delayed, the city may bill Davis for netting costs. The 1918 four story structure is on the National Register and vacant, with a facade survey estimating 1.183 million dollars for full repairs and plan-review time around 30 days.
