Overtime craze hits area high school football season
Jerry Rombach reports a early rush of overtime games as new rule usage in the regular season produces six ties in three weeks. The piece weighs potential strategic shifts, with teams risking less in late play and shootouts from the 20 yard line, and notes undefeated squads and winless teams across conferences. It also highlights players moving to college and local booster efforts amid program advertisers.

Yanks seek late surge amid season pressures
In a restless session Fisher contemplated how a rough game might fuel renewed effort. Butler questioned Fisher's confidence, recalling his strong stuff yet suspecting poor usage by Billy Martin. McGee delivered in a doubleheader, boosting his .362 average as he continued a key two-game run. Pirates manager Tanner lauded McGee’s bat and defense, urging the team to maximize his impact.
