Free at last Presbyterian pastor Weir released from Beirut captivity
The Rev. Benjamin Weir, 61, one of seven Americans held in Beirut, has been released per the Presbyterian Church. A church spokesman cited information from Weir’s wife, Carol Weir, with no further details. Weir was kidnapped May 8, 1984. Peggy Say said a State Dept official confirmed release to her.
