Court voids abortion law warning on custody penalties
A federal appeals court in St Louis struck down a Missouri provision that would force doctors to tell women their child could be put up for adoption if an abortion resulted in a live birth. The 8th Circuit said the warning violated equal protection and due process and ignored doctor patient confidentiality. The decision overturns a lower court ruling that had allowed the informed consent clause.
