Eddie Koehn an eight year old partially blind student faces a two hour daily bus ride to Allen School in Elyria. His parents ask Midview Board of Education to allow Eddie to switch to the Elyria handicapped bus, Midview high school route, or state transport with reimbursement. Superintendent Beatty says Midview cannot bear handicapped transport but offers alternatives including a non public bus and a two block walk to a stop. The Chronicle Telegram and Lorain County Community College start a Courses by Newspaper program on Taxation Myths and Realities with 38 registrants for college credit. An orientation was held and students will attend two on campus sessions the mid term and final with optional study and discussion groups.

Norwalk man Stephan R. Smith, 24, died after a tractor-trailer hit a van at Rt 18 and Quarry Road. Van driver Benjamin Andras, 20, and passenger Mark Lang, 21, fled the scene but surrendered later. Andras faces aggravated vehicular homicide and related charges in Oberlin Municipal Court.
