LCCC may hire cousin of board member for development post

Lorain County Community College considers Stanley J Trupp as top candidate for development and institutional research director. Trupp, 35, heads fundraising at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and would receive a three year contract at $18 500 a year. Three hurt in Ohio Edison substation flash

Three Ohio Edison workers were injured when an electrical flash at a Elyria substation caused power outages to hundreds of homes. William McQuate, Rocky Luvera, and Theron King were treated at Elyria Memorial Hospital with burns ranging from first to second degree. King was later released. The incident occurred south of Ely Stadium at Oberlin Road and West Avenue, and officials described the flash as an electrical arc rather than an explosion.

Crash kills 21 on BAC 111 jet in Hamburg highway try

A BAC 111 charter jet with 121 West Germans aboard attempted to land on a highway after takeoff from Hamburg. The craft struck an overpass, burst into flames, killing 21, injuring 38 seriously, 59 with minor injuries, and leaving 3 missing. Pilot Reinhold Huels was seriously hurt as the plane skidded along the Autobahn five miles north of the airport. The flight operated by Painter National Charter Co for Pan Europa Travel carried vacationers to Malaga, Spain. Investigations by German and British aviation authorities were announced with BAC experts joining the probe.
