Police and FBI chase S and L robbery suspect
A man wearing two plastic bags over his head robbed Northern Savings and Loan at 381 Midway Blvd about 9 30 am. He fled in a blue Buick heading north on West River Road with an undetermined amount of cash. Police traced the car to a Lorain man who was at work. the suspect was described as six feet tall, thin, in grey cut offs and a red white blue knit sweater. Authorities sealed the scene and advised witnesses not to talk.

Fatal pileup near Wellington at road construction site
Akron man August Griesinger 80 died at the scene when a chain-reaction crash involving two tractor trailers and two cars occurred at a state road work zone west of Wellington. Five others were injured, including Griesinger’s grandson and several residents from Akron Paris Norwalk Wakeman and Pennsylvania. The incident followed police warnings about slow speeds at RL 18 and RL 511 near Brighton Township.
