French Vote On EDC Means Repercussions Across Europe

INDIANOLA Mass.- Foreign Director five-year-old cow owned by Burnley has given birth to seven calves. The cow has had three sets of twins and a single birth. The unholy alliance of Communists and rightists in France has rejected the European Defense Community project. It first was conceived four years ago, and U.S. aid since the war ended looms large. Edouard Herriot argued the plan, warning of bitter repercussions across Germany and Western Europe. The Bonn government faces a test as Adenauer may push for rearmament, risking an enlarged German army and a NATO entry. The French National Assembly vote against EDC is seen as a tragedy for Western policy, yet some believe West Germany could still be rearmed if Paris shifts. The United States and Britain fear disintegration of NATO without EDC but expect U.S. troops to stay.
