Boy 15 Rescued After Seven Ton Digging Cave-In

A 15 year old Elyria boy was buried 12 feet deep in a sewer trench at Poplar Street and Bon Air Avenue for over an hour and a half. An air hose kept him breathing while 10 volunteers dug him out. He was taken to Elyria Memorial Hospital in good condition. Contractor Don Gibbons said the rescue showed the need for safer trench practices.
