Mobil launches $3.4 billion bid for Marathon Oil
Mobil Oil Co launches an $3.4 billion takeover of Marathon Oil Co offering $85 a share for up to two thirds of Marathon's 60.165 million shares. Analysts foresee a bidding war possibly lifting price over 120 a share. Marathon based in Findlay Ohio offered no comment.
