Mayor refuses to ban Tri State Klan parade
In Columbus Gov Donahey again refused to deploy state troops to Niles Ohio over a Ku Klux Klan parade planned for tomorrow night. Sheriff J B Thomas at Leavittsburg asked for military aid but the governor said both sheriff and mayor are responsible for preserving peace. In Niles Mayor Harvey C Kistler said the parade will proceed as scheduled with about 25 000 Klansmen from Ohio Pennsylvania and West Virginia expected to march after noon.

Former Lorain police officer jailed for assault
Edward Price, former Lorain patrolman, pleaded to a charge of assault with attempt to a felonious assault before Judge W. B. Thompson in Common Pleas Court this morning and was sentenced to six months in the county jail and ordered to pay the costs of prosecution. The plea was changed from not guilty to statutory assault after extensive investigation by Prosecuting Attorney Lawrence Webber and Juvenile Court probate officer Mrs Harnett Cobb.
