Police begin tagging cars viol ating the new traffic ordinance to curb unsafe driving. Motorists face penalties for stopping in restricted zones and running stop signals while the Halloween parade plans include extensive window displays and a monster parade with prizes and floats across Elyria.
The Elyria W C T U with 329 members writes to the Chronicle Telegram praising the editor for his public stance on issues. The letter commends his wider service to Elyria citizens and his defense of moral and financial welfare, signed by union officers Led by Mrs. Strickler and others.

Frank M. McCaughey, indicted by a Lorain county grand jury on a secret charge of impersonating an officer, was arrested in Toledo and sentenced to 15 months in the Atlanta federal penitentiary. Werner and Lowi Reger filed tort suits with the Industrial Commission of Ohio for tornado injuries from June 28, which the commission denied. Richard Flannigan of Broad Street was fined for reckless driving after his truck hit a car and a curbside auto.
Elyria voters face a three mill tax levy on Tuesday. Without passage the city would face a $48,229 operating deficit for next year. Officials warn cuts would be needed unless the levy passes. The levy continues an existing tax and would spread over five years, reducing current year taxes by about one mill. The measure relies on guidance from the budget commission and state law, with details from County Auditor Monros Welty.
The Budget Committee approved a 91 500 Community Chest quota for Elyria from Nov 12 to 21. Mrs. Ella Logan administratrix of R H Logan's estate seeks 35000 damages from Lake Terminal Co for negligence after a train backing incident in the steel plant yards at Elyria on August 6 1924. The suit, filed in Common Pleas Court, cites the Federal Employers' Liability Act of 1908.
