Thousands joined Elyria Halloween events with a grand parade through Broad and Cheapside streets. Floats from General Phonograph Co and Kiwanis Club highlighted the night, with prize lists announced for costumes and stunts.
In Niles Ohio on November 1, clashes between Klansmen and anti Klansmen erupted as 1600 Ohio National Guard troops were mobilized by Gov Donahey after a large Klan rally. Police detained armed Klansmen and three anti Klansmen were shot amid escalating street violence near Main and Federal Streets.

The son of Rev T Howard Jones of Lorain appeared in juvenile court this morning on a manslaughter charge after Joseph Chambola 22 died from injuries after being struck by the auto driven by Jones late Tuesday on Broadway. Bond was set at 1000 by his parents as Myles E Perry investigated and recommended arrest.
Two fires believed incendiary or gin started early today in Ashland, with an unsuccessful attempt to burn a third building. A carload of print papers was destroyed when Mrs. George Cassel’s barn near the business district burned, and hay sheds along Erie tracks were set ablaze after a warning found at the Donley elevator.
