State wide interest ruling on bank assets in Ohio case
A judge in Steubenville ruled that when Ohio became a bank depositor it became an individual depositor and could not claim state sovereignty. The Fidelity Casualty Co. sought a prior lien of 25475 dollars plus interest on the defunct Union Savings Bank of Yorkville, Ohio, but the court sustained the demurrer.

President Coolidge has refused his request to remain as Philadelphia commandant, and officials foresee actions short of court martial possibly including a demeaning desk assignment to a secluded department office to force him to reform.
