The United Presbyterian Church in Elyria let bids for a 14 000 addition to its East Avenue building. A twelve by thirty foot extension on the north side will include a study and new auditorium seating replacing theatre seats. A steam plant will update heating. The church, founded in 1997, marked its twentieth anniversary last May with about 175 members.

Amherst Man Stricken at South Lorain
Cyrus Harris 49 years old and Amherst resident for 15 years dropped dead at 11 16 this morning in a Vine street South Lorain restaurant. He worked as a labor foreman at National Tube Co blast furnace for 10 years and had been in poor health recently. Harris, born in Wales, came to the U S at age three and lived in Cleveland before moving to Amherst. He belonged to the Amherst Congregational Church Men’s Bible Class and the Amherst Eagles. He is survived by wife Pansy Harris, son Neaglis, sister Mrs John Money of Cimelend, and brother William Harris of Wooster. He would have marked his 12th wedding anniversary this Saturday. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
