Obama proposes first ever fuel rules for medium and heavy trucks
The EPA and DOT propose 2014 to 2018 standards cutting carbon dioxide and fuel use 10 to 20 percent. Heavy trucks and vocational vehicles would face phased in targets including 10 to 15 percent cuts by 2018 and a 20 percent goal for big rig tractors by 2018.
