Defamed mayor sues NR GOP over campaign letter

North Ridgeville Mayor Floyd H. Peace filed a $3 million defamation suit in Lorain County Common Pleas Court against the Republican campaign committee. The suit targets a mailed letter asserting criminal acts and mismanagement by Peace, tied to school imagery and an envelope claim of back to school information. Charles Stuart, treasurer of the committee, is named as a defendant. Peace and his wife allege damages to reputation from the political mudslinging.

Chrysler accord sets parity with Ford GM with $2000 bonus

Chrysler and the United Auto Workers reached a tentative three year contract for 70,000 U.S. workers, giving equal pay with Ford and GM and a $2,000 bonus for averting bankruptcy. The deal ends a 42 hour bargaining session and could end a week old strike by Monday.

Lorain County OKs bonds over Keys objection at 105 Cleveland St
