Kent State protest dispersal ends with arrests and tear gas
On the Kent State University campus more than 700 demonstrators gathered in defiance of court orders. Police in riot gear used tear gas and mounted units to break up the rally. Six people were arrested, four non students and two students, charged with disorderly conduct and trespass. A female student was treated from tear gas exposure. The May 4th Coalition led the protest against the gym annex near the 1970 Kent State shootings site.
