Andress and Smith Hudson Essex dealer note October cooling will renew car buying. They report a strong year with high Hudson Essex output of enclosed models and rising autumn demand. Wayne County records cite 1928 sales peaks and a value edge over other lines priced from 1000 to 2090 dollars.
Ralph Mulford and Major Paul Hines pushed a stock Chandler touring car toward the summit in 1905 signature climb to the clouds. They beat the prior best of 20 minutes 58.4 seconds set by W H Hilliard, with Mulford carving about four minutes off that mark. The Pikes Peak run with a stock car showcased brutal, edge of cliff driving over 12 and a half miles, contrasting the Mt Washington ascent in New Hampshire that proved far from a boulevard.
