Refused Drink Man Murdered at Christening

In Columbus on October 22, James Di Pietro shot and killed Sando Delarado after Delarado refused a drink at an Italian christening. Di Pietro claimed Delarado attacked Tony Di Pietro with a knife, then shot Delarado when he tried to force him from the home. He then fired repeatedly, killing Delarado.

Prohibition Raids Lead To Multiple Arrests In City

Police conducted liquor raids Saturday night with three arrests across the city. George Beaver on West Broad Street and C W Colgan Sr on Lodi Street faced charges, with Colgan pleading guilty and fined 580 plus costs after agreeing to close his business. Officers also raided Steve Nagy’s Western Heights place, finding barricade entries and a cellar attempt halted by police. the case will be analyzed by the city chemist before arraignment. Prohibition officer Frank Kiady also raided the Polish Club on Broadway, arresting Walter Bush for illegal possession and fining him 1000 dollars.

Three Killed as Interurban Plows Car in Cleveland

In Cleveland at East 185th street and Glenfield avenue, a Cleveland and Painesville interurban struck a touring car driven by Rudolph Betzer. Three died Rosa Stroh 37 Joseph Stroh 14 John Grose 22. Rudolph Stroh 19 Rudolph Blatz 22 and Anna Stroh 9 plus Betzer 40 were injured, some dying later. Driver blamed for inexperience and ignoring warning signals. Wreckage strewn along tracks.

Apprehend Truck With Much Booze

COLUMBUS Oct 22 After being chased from Delaware by Sheriff Hester and a Delaware laborer Jim Brosco 9 and August Cosentino 22 Columbus frat dearies were arrested at the north end of the Ohio State University campus. Webb 16 Freed of Poon Charge

Charles H. Webb, husband of the late Mrs. Gertrude Gorman Webb, a wealthy club woman, was exonerated of all responsibility for his wife’s death.
