Judge W. Gerhardy of Columbus and presiding judge P. C. Callen were seriously wounded when trainer Webb shot them in the PortBee hotel lobby in Akron Ohio. Webb had been suspended Thursday for alleged swindling after a dispute following a race between Oneida and Damage. he was arrested and not yet questioned by police.
Constable John Howlett arrested John Pandy yesterday after he refused to send one of 36 children to school. Justice George fined $20 with costs, suspended the fine, and required a $100 bond to ensure the child attends school. Pandy promised to comply and show greater respect for the law.
Henry Zolby of Lorain pleaded guilty to sodomy after verdict by the grand jury. Judge Thompson sentenced him to one year in the penitentiary.
