The Sand Merchant, a Canadian sand ship, capsized in 60 feet of water 17 miles northwest of Cleveland during a 43 mile gale. A weekend of major automobile crashes in Ohio left 13 dead. National Guard Sergeant Victim In Local Car Crash
Haynes Percival a 22 year old sergeant in the Ohio National Guard unit here was fatally injured in an early Sunday auto crash at Lake avenue and Adelbert street. Theodore Roth 25 also a guard sergeant from Elyria was with him. Lukesic and his Buffalo passengers and wife sustained injuries. Percival died at Elyria Memorial Hospital from a fractured skull. Military funeral services are set for 2 PM Wednesday at Nichols Funeral Home with the entire guard company attending.

North Olmsted Teen Fatally Injured in Auto Crash
Funeral services will be held for Miss Marjorie Standen, 17, of Kennedy Ridge North Olmsted at 2 36 p m tomorrow. She died from injuries after a car skidded and tipped over in Westview Saturday night. Driver Miss Elia Drager, 22, was not seriously hurt. Standen, a Butternut Ridge High School student due to graduate next spring, is survived by her parents Mr and Mrs Milo Standen Jr brothers Harry and Fred and sister Hazel.
