Ohio House Committee Drafts New Appropriation Bill Restoring Items
The Ohio House Finance Committee voted to draft a new appropriation bill restoring 715,300 in vetoed items to state universities and welfare departments. Notable restorations include 202,500 for Ohio State University and 203,000 for welfare institutions, with further figures discussed for salaries and wages in 1935 and 1936. The panel will reconvene next week to refine the bill amid ongoing debate over university funding and the governor’s plan.
