Man found dead near Elyria factory amid strike tensions

Runaway Wife Found at Brighton Farm Affair

A runaway wife Florence Rose and her brother were found living as a couple on Brighton Farm near Otsego. Sheriff Backus and Deputy Rowland arrested them with her husband Fred Ross of Hinghampton. Florence Rose pleaded for release as the pair faced fornication charges. suspect Merrill was fined $106 and costs, with 90 days jail. They agreed to return to New York.

Lorain County Electric boss cites coal price drop

J B Johnson general manager admits September soft coal fell 90 cents per ton, boosting savings for Lorain County Electric Co. A 75 cent monthly min charge proposal and a 3 1/3 percent rate rise were argued to mainly hinge on coal costs. Johnson notes coal prices fell since mid August, with wholesale figures averaging 3.70 to 7.73 per ton across months. Mrs Mary S King 62 Dies at Massilon

Mrs Mary S King aged 62 died Saturday at the State Hospital at Massilon after extended illness. The body was brought to the city to the home of her brother Jacob Snyder at 21 Lod Street for funeral services Tuesday afternoon, with Rev JH Grant officiating. She had resided here with her mother until her husband’s death last spring and had many old friends in this city.
