Two Fatal Crashes Leave Lorain County Grieving
In Lorain County two traffic accidents claimed lives during the weekend. John Akosi, 65, of Lorain, died after being struck near Elyria Avenue and East 23rd Street. the driver, Joan Schwartz, 29, was not charged. Harry Bush Jr., 5, of Grafton, died from injuries after a Rt 57 collision near his home with Darrell Burns, 27, of Columbia Station. Burns was not charged. Akosi had lived in Lorain 45 years and hailed from Austria-Hungary.

Isaac Davis Faxon Jr is mourned in Elyria as a former safety service director who died at 69 in Fort Lauderdale Florida after a stroke and coma. He served Elyria under four Republican administrations and later moved to Florida with his wife Isabelle in 1948.
