Kissinger to Visit Peking on China Trip Details

President Nixon's national security adviser Henry Kissinger will fly to Peking Saturday with planned stops in Hawaii and Guam. He will stay about four days in China, return via Anchorage, Alaska, and help fix a date and agenda for Nixon's visit before May 1.

Ohio labor sticks to tax stand amid reform talks

AFL-CIO President Frank King says labor position remains firm as lawmakers consider a graduated income tax to fund new programs. Invacare Plans $1 Million Plant To Create 200 Jobs

Invacare Corp an Elyria based maker of wheelchairs announced a $1 million expansion on Taylor Street to build a new plant for assembling warehousing and plating operations. The facility will boost employment from about 200 at the Oberlin Road plant to more than 200 at full operation and is part of a growth plan with Southgate Development Corp of Newark handling construction. The company also noted sales rose over 50 percent year over year.

Nobel Prize in Medicine Awarded to Dr Earl Sutherland

American physician Dr Earl W Sutherland receives the 1971 Nobel Prize in Medicine in Stockholm for discoveries on hormone action and cyclic AMP as a second messenger. He is a Vanderbilt University Medical School professor and will collect 450000 kroner, about 90000 dollars, for groundbreaking work spanning over 20 years.

United Fund drive raises 264 489 in first week

L Keith Smith reports 264 489 raised in the first week and a half of the 1971 United Fund campaign. The total equals 17 percent of the 1,550,000 goal for Lorain County, with 3,000 volunteers supporting 48 UCS agencies. campaign began October 4 and runs to November 4.

Hungry burglar dines and naps inside Elyria home

An intruder entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Dietz at 928 Wilder Ave on Monday or Tuesday, ate spaghetti and soup, and slept on the couch before departing with no other items. Mrs. Dietz reported a lamp and vase broken from the forced rear entry, while she was visiting relatives.
