Battle northwest of Saigon leaves 26 Viet Cong dead

U S infantrymen flown by helicopter engaged a 400 man Communist battalion 26 miles northwest of Saigon. The fight ended with 26 enemy dead while the Viet Cong escaped into jungle. Americans suffered six killed and 16 wounded. The clash followed B52 bomber strikes and amid reports of a coup attempt in Saigon. In Tran Bang area the Viet Cong again slipped through army cordon.
