Graystone to gain new owner amid hotel plans
Graystone to be sold to Mrs Cheptidh with five rooms renovated and plans to reopen the hotel restaurant and lounge. Plans include live entertainment in the lounge bar as work continues. The Graystone, built in 1899 as Tophit House by John Toplif and Ely Construction Co, was bought by The Mintes in 1965 and later sold to Samuel Khoury who faced city building code violations and $180 fine in Elyria Municipal Court.

Fire destroys barn on Ohio farm near Proctorville
A barn on Dr. 45S Jones's farm in Proctorville Ohio burned Monday night destroying farm machinery and about five tons of hay. The fire response arrived within minutes with equipment from Proctorville and neighboring towns.

Edward Howell father of Miss Howell described a group of five youths visiting his home before a car train collision near Lorain. Kessler and others went to a discount store, then Howell drove the car after claiming brakes were poor.
