Dense Lorain County fog causes fatal crash near Wakeman
A late night dense fog in Lorain and Huron counties caused a head on crash west of Wakeman killing Mike Sokol of Detroit and seriously injuring Carl Palla of Detroit. The collision involved a vehicle driven by Edward Walper of Sharon who fled the scene. An Elsra girl and two Elyria accidents were linked to the fog. The fog eased by 9 am with the sun breaking through as the day warmed.
