Child killed in driveway spurs $250000 suit
A 19 month old Kimberly Tedrow died when a neighbor backed a car from his driveway at 4224 Talbot Lane Lorain. Her parents Harold and Mrs Tedrow filed a $250000 suit in Lorain County Common Pleas Court naming Gregory Willoughby and Louie Willoughby as defendants. The Willoughbys live nearby at 4306 Talbot Lane.

Suit Alleges Negligence by Doctor and Hospital
Martha Henderson of 250 East Sixth Street sues Elyria Memorial Hospital and Dr George T Adams of Avon Lake in Lorain County Common Pleas Court charging negligence in diagnosing chest pain. Kenneth Henderson died October 26 1970 from a pulmonary embolus after being admitted October 12 1970 for pleurisy and sent home.

North Eaton barber enters race for Eaton Township trustee
John E. Mack, 61, of Eaton Township filed petitions with the Lorain County Board of Elections to run for trustee. A longtime resident and barber of 44 years, he served on the township school board, was a school bus driver, and is a member of the Eaton Grange and North Eaton Church of Christ. Fire damages landfill bulldozer in Lorain
An $84,000 bulldozer bought earlier this year at Lorain’s city landfill caught fire Monday, causing an estimated $15,000 damage when a fuel line broke and spilled fuel ignited. The fire took about 30 minutes to extinguish and may slow landfill operations. City officials could not confirm insurance. repairs may be funded if under warranty. It is the machine’s second fire since purchase last spring.

Bike collision injures youth at Meyer Goldberg lot
A 16 year old, Jeffery Rancher of 5020 Oroszy Road, was taken to St Joseph Hospital in fair condition after a minibike struck a car in the Meyer Goldberg parking lot at 3810 Broadway. The driver, Mari lyn Kowalczyk of 2444 East 32nd Street, was westbound and slowed but could not avoid impact. The youth faced charges for reckless operation and lack of proper safety equipment. A 14 year old, Michael Manning of 4973 Toledo Avenue, was uninjured.
