Ocean May Outstrip Land In Food Supply Says Scientist
Tallahassee Florida Dr Harold J Humm director of marine biology at Florida State University says the sea could someday yield more food than land and its potential economic value may rival terrestrial crops. He notes water covers 70 percent of earth while 98 percent of current food comes from land and estimates sea capacity may be about twice that of land per square mile. He adds we have only begun tapping marine resources.
