Council Bluffs grape growers plan to scale back wine production this year in favor of selling grapes. Harry Martin of the Council Bluffs Grape Growers Association says profits will come from grape sales as markets for wine soften. He notes a 25,000 gallon crop nearing readiness and cites 43,000 gallons produced last year amid low prices. Michigan, Iowa, and Nebraska markets and state liquor rules shape the outlook.
