Injuries Cost Elderly Man's Life
Jay Comstock aged 76 of Cleveland road seven miles east of Elyria died in Elyria Memorial Hospital at 2 30 a m today from injuries sustained yesterday. He was struck by a car driven by William G. Black of Euclid as he walked to his mailbox, dragged 24 feet. Sheriff Clarence W. Dick said Black tried to avoid the collision causing his car to skid and overturn. Black was absolved of blame. Comstock's body was taken to Nichols Funeral Home. His daughter Mrs A J Weaver of Philadelphia will arrive tomorrow. he is survived by two sons. He was a retired resident who lived alone.
