A horse valued at 250 dollars owned by Carl Christman of South Amherst was killed at 9 39 last night after a car driven by Walter Smith of Erie Street South Amherst struck it on Quarry Road half a mile south of Route 59. Deputies Ed Monroe and Henry Moehl reported the wreck. they said the horse jumped in front of the car and Christman asked the animal be shot after it suffered a broken leg. George Hahn was guiding Christman’s escaped horses back to the enclosure when the collision occurred.
