White Program 10 Yield $78 Million in Ohio Tax Plan

Columbus reports Governor White's emergency relief program as approved by the House and under Senate review. The trio of measures would net about 78 million, with a broader package totaling 88 million, including an income tax tweak and a 60 million sales tax plan. The sales tax would apply roughly three percent to consumer tangible goods, with exemptions and tiered rates up to three percent on higher brackets, plus foods and certain farm products carved out. Individual income tax rates would start at one to six percent, rising with brackets, and a 4,000 to 3,000 exemption structure for families, while a one cent per gallon liquid fuel tax would be extended for a year, with precise exemptions for manufacturing uses.
